Strike Force Betting Odds

Strike Force betting odds will be difficult to find at major sportsbooks because, well, there is no Strike Force anymore. Strike Force was a mixed martial arts promotion that was bought by the UFC in 2011 and by 2013 the company was finished. It was extremely popular in its heyday and even produced some legendary fighters and fights over their history. The transition brought in fighters such as welterweight champion Tyron Woodley, and light heavyweight champion Daniel Cormier. These are two huge names in the UFC so clearly, the talent level was on par at the time, they just couldn’t survive the explosion in popularity of the UFC.

Now betting on Strike Force has turned into betting on the UFC as the UFC absorbed the remaining fighter contracts and expanded their already impressive brand. It is more competitive than it’s been in a long time and betting on the UFC has become as popular as it’s ever been. Use this page to educate yourself on the ins and outs of MMA and UFC betting odds as we dive into explanations of how to read UFC odds, the wager types involved, and we will even review the top sites in which you can enjoy these activities.

Is It Legal To Bet On The UFC?

Operating sports betting sites inside of the United States is illegal thanks to a federal ban on sports betting but that does not mean that there aren’t any options for legal UFC betting. While it may not be legal to operate these sites, players aren’t mentioned at all in these laws, and if these players use sites that provide betting services from outside of the U.S., they don’t have anything to worry about. Nobody has ever been arrested for betting on the UFC, or any sport for that matter while using offshore online sportsbooks like. The sites we have reviewed below are completely safe and legal to use and they accept players from all around the country and even some places abroad as well.

How To Read UFC Betting Odds

Bettors that may be new to reading UFC betting odds should know that reading UFC betting odds is actually pretty simple once you break it down. Just like any other sport, there is a favorite and an underdog in each and every fight.

There are three different formats in which you could see UFC betting odds and they are American, decimal, and fractional odds. Your preference is usually dependent on where you live but American odds are typically what you will see at the top sportsbooks with UFC betting lines.

American Odds – These are seen as a whole number and will be shown with either a positive (+) or negative (-) sign in front of said number. Just like with all odds, the higher the number, the worse the odds are for a fighter to win. So if you are looking at the betting odds for Jon Jones vs. Daniel Cormier, you would see something like (Jon Jones –250 vs. Daniel Cormier +150). The low number (-250) indicates a heavy favorite in Jones, compared to the higher number (+150) for Cormier.

Decimal Odds – Decimal odds are typically used in European countries and while they aren’t necessarily difficult to understand, they do require a little explanation to get a grasp on them. Decimal odds include what you are betting and your potential profit in the odds. So if Amanda Nunez decimal odds were at 1.25, then if you bet $100 on her to win, you would win $125 back. On the flip side of that, let’s say you bet on the underdog. If Nunez is up against Miesha Tate, and Tate’s odds are at 2.85, then you would win $285 if you bet $100.

Fractional Odds – They obviously read like a fraction and the first number of the fraction is how much you are going to be paid out in correlation with the second number, which is how much you need to bet. So if Michael Bisping has 3/5 odds to win a fight, then you would divide 3 by 5, multiply it by however much your betting and you have your payout. So let’s say you bet $100 on Bisping, then it would be 3/5 = 0.6 x $100 = $60.

UFC Wager Types

MMA betting is one of the only sports there is in which you can’t bet on point spreads because it’s individual competition that doesn’t have a typical scoring system like other sports. That being said, there are plenty of other UFC wager types that bettors can enjoy.

Moneyline bets are the typical “who will win?” bet. The bet doesn’t change depending on how the fighter wins the fight, just so long as he does win.

Parlay bets are bets on multiple fighters to win during one UFC fight card. So if you are confident that three fighters will win their fights, then you can place a three fight parlay. If they all win, you win the bet, if even one of them loses, then so do you. It’s a risky bet that is tough to predict, especially as you start to increase the number of athletes you want to bet on, but the payouts are always worth the risk.

There are also what’s called “open” parlays that allow you to leave one spot on your parlay empty, while still being able to bet on the other fighters. You, of course, need to fill that empty spot before the card is finished though.

Round betting and method of victory betting are exactly what they sound like. Round betting is wagering on who will win individual rounds or bets on what round you feel the fight will be over. Method of victory betting is a prediction on how the fight will finish. You can predict a knockout, unanimous decision, majority decision, submission, or even draws, or referee stoppages.

Finally, you can check out the many prop bets offered at all of the major sportsbooks. Prop bets allow bettors to wager on things that don’t directly have to do with whether a fighter wins or loses. It can be bets on who will win Performance of the Night honors like KO of the Night or Submission of the Night. It can also be bets on how many guys will tap out or be knocked out throughout the entire UFC card. There are endless betting opportunities when betting on UFC props.
